Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- With the approach of the 95th birth anniversary (Dec. 24) of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese war hero, the Korean people look back upon her noble life dedicated to the victorious advance of the Songun (military-first) revolution, pioneered by President Kim Il Sung. In her early years Kim Jong Suk took part in the anti-Japanese armed struggle for Korea's liberation, true to the President's Songun idea and line. Joining the Korean People's Revolutionary Army on September 18, Juche 24 (1935), she made up her mind to always remain loyal to the President. During the armed struggle she defended and implemented at the risk of her life Kim Il Sung's idea and leadership for the victory of the Korean revolution. When she was staying in the Qingfeng Secret Camp in February 1939, she resolutely championed the President's strategic policy from slander by the head of the camps who betrayed the revolution. She also reliably safeguarded the President by displaying her extraordinary marksmanship and courage in battles. And she aroused the broad sections of masses to the anti-Japanese struggle while conducting underground political activities in different parts of the country. After the liberation of the country Kim Jong Suk had worked hard to assist the President in guiding the building of regular armed forces. She visited the Pyongyang Institute, a military and political academy at that time, more than 30 times. She often inspected military units to help train many commanding officers and build up the services and arms and devoted her physical and mental energies to building and developing the national defense industry. Her great feats for the victory of the anti-Japanese revolution and the building of regular armed forces will remain long in the history of the Songun revolution. |
