Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- Remembrance meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Cuba, Myanmar and Thailand on Dec. 13 and 14 on the occasion of the first anniversary of demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. Displayed at the venues of the events were photos of his sacred revolutionary life and undying feats. Works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and photos introducing the struggle of the army and people of the DPRK were also on display. The principal of Kim Il Sung Higher School of Cuba and other speakers said that Kim Jong Il strengthened the Workers' Party of Korea into a veteran and seasoned party, developed in depth the Juche idea into the eternal guiding idea of the Korean revolution and made great contributions to building a thriving nation, reunifying the country and accomplishing the human cause of independence. They stressed the need to widely introduce the feats of the peerlessly great men among the Cuban people. The feats Kim Jong Il performed by turning the DPRK into an invincible, single-mindedly united socialist power will always be remembered by the Korean people and progressive mankind, said the secretary of the Yangon Regional Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar. The Korean people led by the dear respected Kim Jong Un will successfully carry out the behests of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, he noted. The chairman of the Thailand-Korea Friendship Association said: The Thai people were deeply moved by the pure and absolute trust of the Korean people in Kim Jong Il, seeing the scene of them blocking the car carrying his bier. I keenly felt that there are such wonderful people and steel-like unity and cohesion are possible thanks to the great leader. |
