At the press conference, the speakers accused the prosecution authorities of asserting that the calls for withdrawal of the U.S. forces and conclusion of a peace treaty made by the organization were pursuant to an instruction of the north and kicking off investigation on charges of violation of SL.

The actions conducted by the organization were just ones meeting the realistic requirements of south Korea, they held, adding actions of progressive movement organizations for independent reunification, peace and prosperity would go on no matter how harsh the prosecution's suppression gets.

A press release was read out at the conference.

It charged that the prosecution's repressive racket was aimed to weaken the organization's anti-war actions.

It blasted the prosecution's sinister intention to violate conscience and freedom of expression and gag the public opposed to the conservative forces by invoking SL censured as a law against human rights, democracy and reunification at home and abroad.

It demanded the prosecution immediately stop the investigation into the organization.
