Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2 is a brilliant embodiment and a great victory of the consistent policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government on space development and its use for peaceful purposes. The development and use of space has become the worldwide trend in the 21st century. In recent years the WPK and the DPRK government have set it as an important policy for improving the standard of people's living and building an economic power to use space, common treasure of humankind, for peaceful purposes to swim with the tide of the era for space development, and have worked hard for its realization. The DPRK has concentrated able scientists and technicians in the field of developing satellite, complex of ultra-modern science and technologies. It has pushed forward the general state space development plan which encompassed expanding and strengthening the organizations for space development to keep up with the development of modern technology, and continuing to launch working satellites essential for the country's economic development in succession. In those days the country's space science and technology have made substantial progress. Kwangmyongsong 3-2 is a Juche satellite as it was made indigenously ranging from its design, manufacture, assembly and launch to the post-launch observation. It was launched 14 years after Kwangmyongsong 1 was launched in 1998. In this period the country succeeded in two test satellite launches. Even though it failed in the third launch, the fourth satellite, an application one, was successfully put into space. It took only over 240 days to the fourth launch since the third. In this period, the scientists and technicians looked into the cause of failure and found a scientific solution in a thorough-going way. This provided them with an opportunity for acquiring necessary scientific and technological data and valuable experiences which served as a priceless foundation for further progress in space development. This, in the end, helped them open up a broad avenue for conquering space. Kwangmyongsong 3-2 was launched in the winter season with unfavorable conditions for successful lift-off. The successful launch showed that the DPRK has reached a new eminence of satellite science and technology. It was put into orbit while changing the direction of its trajectory, another path blazed by our scientists. To meet the country's policy for space development for peaceful use, the developers of the satellite chose the way of putting the satellite into orbit by changing the direction of its track so as to drop the second stage of the carrier rocket in the open sea, away from the international sea routes and residential areas. They also made the satellite follow the curved circle for the safety of those countries around the DPRK. They made persevering pursuit and efforts to finish in a short span of time the scientific researches with an aim to increase the reliability and precision of the carrier rocket and satellite and successfully launched it in the mid-winter time, strikingly demonstrating before the world the very high level of space science and technology of the DPRK. The world marveled at the accurate lines, points and figures left by the satellite and confirmed that it was put into the target orbit after following the designed trajectory. The whole processes ranging from the launch and stage separations of carrier rocket to the satellite's entry into the orbit were a complete success without the slightest defect. The DPRK has full scientific, technological and material preparations for coping with any difficulties and trials that may arise in conquering space. Space scientists and technicians of the DPRK are in their 30s or in their 40s. The country is reliable in academic terms and has powerful scientific and technical forces, to say nothing of equipment. The successful launch of Kwangmyongsong 3-2 showed the DPRK's fixed will to advance into space and the high level of its science and technology. The launch was a signal event that demonstrated the DPRK's independent and legitimate right to use space for peaceful purposes and the overall national power of Songun Korea all over the world. The DPRK will continue to launch more satellites following Kwangmyongsong 3-2, pursuant to the country's strategy for building a thriving nation and thus become a space power desired by the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the Korean people. |
