In the message they extended solidarity to the WPK and all Korean people on December 17 on the first anniversary of demise of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

At this time commemorating the first anniversary of passing of Kim Jong Il we are looking back on the energetic efforts made by him for defending the national independence and sovereignty and building socialism under the difficult situation, the message said, and continued:

Today the Korean people are waging a hard struggle to develop their country, ensure welfare of all people, achieve the cause of national reunification and steadily advance socialist construction under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un, holding high the banner of independence.
