The Egyptian paper Al Ahbar on Dec. 12 carried an article titled "On the occasion of the first anniversary of demise of HE Kim Jong Il, leader of the Korean people" illustrated with a portrait of the smiling leader.

The Songun politics pursued by him is the original political mode, it said, noting that he carried forward the cause of President Kim Il Sung, ushering in the Songun era in Korea.

Looking upon the past period, there has been no era in which heroic victory was won as today in the history spanning five thousand years of the Korean nation, it said.

The December issue of the Palestinian magazine Ilal Amam edited an article titled "Kim Jong Il, feats performed in the great history of struggle" accompanied with his portrait.

It said that the feats he performed by dedicating all his life are the noblest legacy guaranteeing the victory of the socialist cause in Korea and the accomplishment of the human cause of independence. Though he passed away, he is always alive in the hearts of the Korean people and the world progressives, it added.

The Lao paper Vatelao on Dec. 18 carried an article titled "Kim Jong Il's patriotism" illustrated with a portrait of the smiling leader.

It said that Kim Jong Il was a model of the genuine patriots who dedicated himself to the prosperity of the country and its people's happiness.

The Mexican paper Unidad Nacional on Dec. 15 devoted its one whole page to an article praising his Songun leadership feats under the title "Songun brilliant commander Kim Jong Il" illustrated with a photo on his revolutionary activities.
