Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- A south Korean resident who had been in jail on a false charge of espionage since 1985 was declared not guilty at a time when truth about false cases faked up by the past military dictatorial regime is being disclosed one after another, according to the south Korean newspaper Hangyore. At that time investigators of the Defense Security Command of the puppet army walked away resident Ku Myong So to an anti-communist section in Seoul. In the course of investigation fascists put him to harsh torture, wresting a false confession. Consequently, he was thrown into jail on false charge that he conducted espionage on the "instruction" of the north. After releasing from the prison, he underwent physical pain and all sorts of stress caused by aftereffects of torture. This fact was laid bare by a series of testimonies made by victims of spy cases cooked up by the Defense Security Command during the past military dictatorial regime. In this regard the Seoul Central District Court ruled that the "government" should make reparation to the victims and their families, declaring that illegal detention and harsh acts of investigators were violation of law. |
