Present at the banquet was Marshal of the DPRK Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

He once again warmly congratulated those people on successfully launching the satellite to fully demonstrate the undying feats of leader Kim Jong Il, devotedly ensure and protect the undisputed prestige of the WPK, instill great national self-esteem and conviction of sure victory into all the service personnel and people and remarkably increase the international position and influence of the DPRK.

Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, made a speech at the banquet.

He warmly congratulated those people upon authorization by Kim Jong Un.

The speaker said that in the course of launching the satellite they showed by a practical example how one should carry out the behests of Kim Jong Il and how one should remain true to the leadership of Kim Jong Un.

The speaker called upon the skilled and brave space conquerors intensely loyal to the Party to develop and launch more working satellites such as communications ones and carrier rockets of greater performance to glorify the DPRK as a space power to be envied by the world under the uplifted slogan "Korea Does What It Is Determined to Do!"

A performance was given by the Wangjaesan Art Troupe at the banquet.
