Display of Fireworks Shows Korean People's Will to Bring Rosier Future

Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Fireworks were displayed in Pyongyang at 00:00 Jan. 1, Juche 102 (2013) which will see a turning phase in the Korean people's drive to build a thriving socialist nation. Servicepersons and civilians of the DPRK are permeated with joy and hope for rosier future, enjoying the display of fireworks. In this regard, KCNA had interviews with citizens watching the display of fireworks at Kim Il Sung Square. Jo Hui Sung, director of the History Institute of the Academy of Social Sciences, said: "Last year was a year of special mention in the history of the nation as the army and people of the DPRK opened up a broad vista for the country's development, closely rallied around respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, amid the blessings of the great Generalissimos. The fireworks display represents the blessings of the Generalissimos as well as their call for winning greater victories for national prosperity. It also shows the mettle and faith of the DPRK people dynamically advancing toward the rosy future despite hardships and trials." Ho Man Bok, a worker of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex, said: "The display of fireworks seems to call for steadily effecting innovations in production and construction. I'll work harder for building a thriving nation with the same spirit as the heroes displayed in conquering space." Jo Song Hyok, an official of the Sosong District People's Committee, said: "The key to successful building of a thriving socialist country is only to advance along the road of socialism, the road of independence and Songun, holding high the banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism under the guidance of respected Marshal Kim Jong Un. This is what the display of fireworks means. I am sure that everything will go on smoothly in the country." |
