Present there were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior party, state and army officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the Cabinet, armed forces organs, ministries and national institutions, heroes and merited persons.

Present there on invitation were foreign guests including diplomatic envoys, representatives of international bodies here, foreign military attaches and their spouses, overseas compatriots and the chief of Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

At the banquet Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C. C., the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, made a speech.

He referred to the fact that the army and people of the DPRK brought about epochal turn in building a thriving nation and proudly reviewed the 100-year history of Juche Korea by fully displaying Kim Jong Il's patriotism under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

The successful launch of the scientific and technological satellite was an event of special significance which brilliantly carried out the behests of leader Kim Jong Il and fully demonstrated the development of the space science and technology of Juche Korea and general national capabilities, he noted.

He declared the stand of the DPRK government to dynamically struggle for building a reunified and prosperous thriving nation on the three thousand-ri motherland true to the behests of the great Generalissimos and make positive efforts for defending regional peace and security and achieving global independence.
