An official concerned told KCNA that the prices of goods and foodstuffs were lowered in some public service centers. They include Pyongyang Department Store No. 1, Pothonggang Department Store, Pothonggang Shop and Mansugyo Meat and Fish Shop.

The flower shops, too, are congested with customers.

Jang Pok Hwa, 45, chief of the floriculture wholesale store of the Pyongyang Floriculture Institute, said that the store received many orders on the eve of the New Year and it has been visited by many customers from early morning on the New Year's day.

The Okryu and Chongnyu restaurants and Pyongyang Noodle House are popular among people for a variety of famous dishes.

Among popular service centers are Unjong Teahouse, Changgwangsan Kuksu (Noodle) Restaurant and Steak Restaurant.

Han Chol, 40, citizen of Pyongyang, said he was told that the dear respected Kim Jong Un sent many pheasants to this restaurant for the New Year's day service. He added that this fact moved him deeply.

Lots of people are seen in Ryugyong and Changgwang health complexes, Taedongmun Cinema, People's Theatre, Pyongyang Circus Theatre and Rungna People's Pleasure Park.
