S. Korean Paper Calls for Probing Truth about Four-river Project
Pyongyang, January 2 (KCNA) -- The south Korean paper Hangyore carried an article "Aftereffect of project of four large rivers and measures for their recovery" written by Kim Jong Uk, honorary professor at Seoul National University.

The article recalled that the Lee Myung Bak regime has pushed ahead with the project, bragging that it would prevent drought and flood and ensure clean water.

The project, however, left land inundated and caused shoals of fishes to die and worsened water pollution, it deplored, adding:

Most of the dykes collapsed or are in the danger of sinking as they were built on sand through a reckless carrying out of the project and their beds were not dredged as designed.

Querying where did the ridiculous amount of money earmarked as expenses for the project go, the article went on:

In a word, the project is the worst scandal in history.

It demanded probe into the truth behind the project and rectification of the wrongs.
