Art Performance Incites Desire for Korea's Reunification
Pyongyang, January 7 (KCNA) -- The Moranbong Band of the DPRK gave its New Year performance "Following the Party to the End" in Pyongyang.

The numbers of the performance included such songs as "Mts. Paektu and Halla Are of the Same Country" and "Reunification of Korea by Its Nation Itself", which stir up the desire for national reunification.

Ri Ok Se, vice-chairman of the Council for the Reunification of Tangun's Nation, told KCNA:

"The performance well showed all Koreans' will to build a reunified thriving country by concerted efforts of the entire nation.

The reunification of Korea is the supreme national task which brooks no further delay, and it is the lifelong desire and behest of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Deeply grieving over the national division, the Generalissimos had worked heart and soul all their life to hand down a reunified country to the posterity.

I will work hard to achieve the national reunification, true to the behests of the Generalissimos, who laid solid foundations for the independent reunification, peace and prosperity of the nation."

Ri O Song, an officer of the Korean People's Army, said:

"Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the KPA, stressed in his New Year address that what is important in putting an end to the division of the country and achieving its reunification is to remove confrontation between the north and the south.

The history of inter-Korean relations shows that confrontation between fellow countrymen leads to nothing but war.

However, the Lee Myung Bak group of rats in south Korea has frantically kicked up a racket for confrontation with compatriots from the outset of the year. Those fond of playing with fire are bound to perish in it.

We will do our utmost to defend the sovereignty more precious than our own lives and bring earlier the day of national reunification, the cherished desire of all Koreans."
