Korean Resident in U.S. Calls for Opening New Era of National Prosperity

| Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Yang Un Sik, permanent chairman of the U.S. Regional Committee of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, in an article carried on Jan. 1 called for greeting this year as a year of implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration. The article rapped the south Korean Lee Myung Bak regime for driving the inter-Korean relations into collapse and bringing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war last year by stepping up the confrontation policy towards the DPRK. It called for thoroughly implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration to radically improve the inter-Korean relations and usher in a new era of prosperity common to the nation by its concerted efforts. Difficulties and ordeals lie in the way of reunification but victory is in store for the Korean nation, it noted. It called upon all Koreans to give full play to the enthusiasm to achieve national reunification in the new year full of hope. |
