All-out Struggle for Winning Vital Rights Declared in S. Korea

Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a press conference in Seoul on Jan. 7 at which it declared an all-out struggle for winning vital rights. It demanded the "government" authorities immediately take steps for a solution to the lay-off of workers at Ssangyong Motors, reinstatement of the dismissed, etc. In case its demand is not met, the organization will launch an all-out struggle with its 16 affiliated regional headquarters and federations of different domains involved, it warned. On Jan. 2 leading members of the organization held a meeting before the grave of martyr Jon Thae Il at Moran Park in Masoku-ri, Namyangju City, Kyonggi Province at which they expressed their will to wage a more dynamic labor movement this year. They called upon all workers to pool their wisdom and strength to settle the labor issue. |
