DPRK Students Engaged in Social Activities
Pyongyang, January 17 (KCNA) -- University students in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are carrying on social activities during their vocation, in an effort to implement the tasks laid in the New Year address of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Tens of thousands of students from 10 odd universities and colleges in Pyongyang, including Kim Il Sung University, found themselves at the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex to give a helping hand to its employees.

They volunteered to carry more than 1,000 tons of materials, remove a large amount of earth and improve ditches and handed over abundant aid materials to the complex.

Ji Un Gyong, a student of Kim Chol Ju University of Education, told KCNA:

"I was deeply impressed by the employees working devotedly for the country. Their devoted work made me resolve to study harder for the nation's development."

Students also conducted socio-political activities at light industrial establishments and on co-op farms.

Those in North Phyongan Province spent some of vacation days at the Sinuiju Shoes Factory and on Sinam Co-op Farm in Ryongchon County.

Students in North Hamgyong and Hwanghae provinces visited Kim Chaek and Hwanghae iron and steel complexes and other major factories and enterprises to encourage the workers to effect fresh upsurge in production.

Yun Myong Guk, a student of Kim Je Won Haeju University of Agriculture, said that during the winter vacation he would do good things to be kept long in my memory.
