The state of confrontation still persists on the Korean Peninsula, the statement said, adding:

The situation on the peninsula remains tense on the peninsula due to the imperialist policy of the U.S. which refuses to settle key issues.

The U.S. still refuses to conclude a peace treaty with the DPRK and withdraw its forces from south Korea including nuclear weapons after its defeat in the 1950-1953 Korean war, and is prodding south Korea into psychological warfare and moves for military aggression against the DPRK.

All Koreans should support and defend the policy for national reunification put forward by the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and carried forward by the dear respected Kim Jong Un and wage a dynamic struggle to thoroughly implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

Korea will be reunified without fail on the basis of the agreements reached between the north and the south of Korea and amid the support of the world peace-loving forces.
