Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- Foreign organizations made public a joint statement and statements in support of the memorandum of the DPRK Foreign Ministry urging the U.S. to dissolve the "UN Command" in south Korea. The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association in a joint statement on Jan. 14 said that the "UN Command" in south Korea is a U.S "tool" which has nothing to do with the UN. The DPRK proposed the U.S. to replace the Armistice Agreement with a permanent peace agreement, but the U.S. deliberately disregarded it, the joint statement said, adding: The UN General Assembly in 1975 adopted two resolutions on the dissolution of the "UN Command", but the U.S. shunned its obligation contrary to the unanimous desire of the international community and world people. The U.S. scenario to turn the ghostlike "UN Command" into a "multinational forces command" is intended to knock into shape an alliance for stifling socialist Korea of Juche by force of arms and expand its domination and influence upon the Asia-Pacific region. It is quite natural for the DPRK to steadily bolster up its war deterrence. The Bangladesh Institute of the Juche Idea and the Bangladesh Group for the Study of Songun Policy made public statements on Jan. 16 in which they held the dissolution of the "UN Command" is an inevitable requirement for protecting peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the Asia-Pacific region. |
