Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- The Socialist Party of Benin released a statement on January 16 demanding the dissolution of the "UN Command". The statement said: The U.S. has persistently maintained cease-fire while defying the consistent stand and efforts of the DPRK government to replace the Armistice Agreement with a peace accord. The "UN Command", ghost of the Cold War, is behind the U.S. moves. For the U.S. to maintain the "UN Command" or not is directly linked with the issue of whether to keep the tool for a war of aggression in the Asia-Pacific region, the biggest hotspot of the world, or not. Today it has become clear that the "UN Command" no longer serves as a tool under the jurisdiction of the UN but has become a war tool for the U.S. It should be dissolved at once so as to recover the authority and the fairness of the UN and replace the Armistice Agreement with a peace accord. The Socialist Party of Benin urges the U.S. to immediately dissolve the "UN Command" and give up the hostile policy towards the DPRK. The party wishes the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people success in the struggle to solve the above said problems this year marking the 60th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War, and extends full support and solidarity to them. |
