The June 15 era of reunification which had made dynamic advance in the spirit of "By our nation itself" clearly proves that no one can match the concerted efforts of the Korean nation, and they provide a sure guarantee for the victory in the national reunification movement.

The might of national unity had been more strikingly demonstrated in the June 15 era of reunification than in any other times.

"By our nation itself", the main spirit of the June 15 era of reunification, is an idea of national independence and, at the same time, an idea of national unity. After the publication of the June 15 joint declaration all Koreans had waged a strenuous struggle for achieving independent reunification through national unity, cherishing the idea of "By our nation itself." In this course the great national unity was put on a new historical phase. There is nothing impossible and independent reunification is quite attainable when Koreans join hands and pool their efforts. This truth has been enshrined in the hearts of all Koreans as firm faith.

Without the unity of the nation, the independent and peaceful reunification of the country would be unthinkable. The wisdom, will and strength of the united nation constitute a driving force to usher in a new morning of independent reunification.

No matter what different needs and interests individual class and stratum in the nation may seek, they can hardly be bigger than the common requirements and interests of the nation. When the Koreans place such common interests as national reunification above anything else, they can certainly achieve the unity of the nation irrespective of ideology and social system.
