DPRK's Call for Dissolution of "UN Command" Supported by Organizations of Bulgaria, France
Pyongyang, January 24 (KCNA) -- The Bulgaria-Korea Friendship Association and the France-Korea Friendship Association on Jan. 18 and 19 made public statements in support of the memorandum of the DPRK Foreign Ministry urging the U.S. to dissolve the "UN Command" in south Korea.

The Bulgarian association said that the dissolution of the "UN Command" is an inevitable requirement for peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the Asia-Pacific region.

It went on:

The U.S. is working hard to revive the function of the "UN Command" these days on the basis of its strategic scenario to retain its firm grip on south Korea as an outpost for dominating the Asia-Pacific region under the changed situation.

The U.S. claims that the DPRK's measures to bolster up its defence capability are a factor of straining the situation in the region. But it is nothing but rhetoric to cover up the aggressive nature of its Asia-Pacific strategy.

It is the legitimate right of the DPRK to steadily bolster up its self-defence capability to cope with the moves of the U.S. and its followers for aggression

The U.S. should dissolve the illegal "UN Command" as early as possible in line with the unanimous will of the Korean and other progressive peoples of the world to put an end to the ceasefire and establish a peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula.

The French association expressed full support for the memorandum of the DPRK Foreign Ministry and called for conducting more dynamic solidarity activities demanding the conclusion of a peace treaty between the DPRK and the U.S.
