Pyongyang, January 24 (KCNA) -- Political parties and organizations of the Democratic Republic of Congo made public a joint statement on Jan. 15 in support of the New Year Address made by the dear respected Kim Jong Un and the memorandum of the DPRK Foreign Ministry. They are the Communist Party, Workers' Party, People's Rally for Socialism, National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, Working Citizens' Association and the Democratic Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association. The joint statement said: The historic New Year Address made by Marshal Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Korean people, serves as an inspiring banner which indicates the way for not only the Korean people but also the world progressives who love justice and truth. It evoked great repercussions. We believe that the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people will bring about a decisive turn in building an economic power under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un this significant year marking the 65th anniversary of the DPRK and the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. We extend firm solidarity to the Korean people in their efforts to defuse confrontation between the north and the south and open up a new phase of Korea's reunification by concerted efforts of the Korean nation. We urge the south Korean authorities to respect the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and sincerely implement them. We support the memorandum of the DPRK Foreign Ministry calling for dissolution of the "UN Command". We demand the U.S. immediately dissolve the "UN Command", a leftover of the Cold War, and make up a bold decision to replace the Armistice Agreement with a peace treaty and withdraw its troops from south Korea this year marking the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Korean people in the Fatherland Liberation War. |
