The competition was divided into sections of secondary school and primary school. More than 400 schoolchildren took part.

Taking the first place in team standing in the secondary school section were men's team of Jangjin Secondary School in Jangjin County, South Hamgyong Province and women's team of Chonggye Secondary School in Rason City. Also coming first in the primary school section were men's teams of Rajin Primary School in Rason City and Hyangsan Primary School in Hyangsan County, North Phyongan Province and women's team of Hungdok Primary School in Hamhung City, South Hamgyong Province.
