Rodong Sinmun Observes Anniversary of North HQ of Pomminryon

Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- The cause of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) is sure to triumph as it is an invincible patriotic organization dynamically struggling in the van of the movement for national reunification in accordance with the will and wishes of all Koreans, says Rodong Sinmun in a bylined article dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the formation of the North Headquarters of Pomminryon.

It goes on:

The Pomminryon HQ was created on Jan. 25, Juche 80 (1991) as the north branch of Pomminryon in the wake of its formation.

The course covered by Pomminryon for more than 20 years represents a shining period in which it has strenuously waged a patriotic reunification movement, sharing the same breath with all fellow countrymen desirous of national reconciliation and unity and national reunification under the uplifted banner of the Three Charters for National Reunification and the north-south joint declarations, the article says, and goes on:

There took place in the 1990s of the last century pan-national meetings which encouraged all Koreans to turn out in the struggle for national reunification and the June 15 era of reunification witnessed grand reunification festivals which fully demonstrated the will of the Korean nation for independent reunification. All these events were associated with the efforts of Pomminryon.

It has vigorously advanced the reunification movement, meeting the vicious challenges of the separatist forces at home and abroad with the might of great national unity.

It has also roused compatriots from all walks of life at home and abroad to a nationwide struggle to support and defend the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and check and foil the moves of the separatist forces at home and abroad going against the trend of the times.

It has successfully realized solidarity and alliance and joint actions of Koreans in the north and the south and abroad for national reunification, more firmly relying on the patriotic reunification forces and strengthening their organizations as the situation got complicated and acute. It, at the same time, has steered the movement for national reunification, bitterly condemning the U.S. and the south Korean anti-reunification forces for their rackets of confrontation with the DPRK. This is a manifestation of its firm will to achieve independent reunification, peace and prosperity without fail with the concerted efforts of the Korean nation under the uplifted banner of the June 15 era of reunification despite any great difficulties and stern trials.

The Korean nation is highly proud of having Pomminryon, vanguard of the national reunification movement, and voices full support to its activities.
