Pyongyang, January 29 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is directing big efforts to scientific researches to bring about a radical turn in building an economic giant. Kim Chaek University of Technology plays a significant role in this campaign, making lots of scientific achievements urgently needed to develop the economy. According to an official of the university, hundreds of its teachers and researchers are now engaged in research activities at different main sectors of the national economy. Weld engineering researchers developed and introduced a new kind of build-up electrode at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex, thus increasing more than 10 times the durability of a molding screw vital to ammonia compound gas production. Some of those researchers have developed a new kind of distemper with mixtures of compound oxidized steel paint and compound paint, paving a way for its mass-production. This quality and environment-friendly compound oxidized steel paint costs low, and wastes coming from its production can be used as substitutes for fertilizer. Teachers and researchers of the university also have invented valuable technologies at the Pyongyang Trolley Bus Factory, which are applicable to manufacturing modern trolley buses. Meanwhile, they are working hard to modernize the Pyongyang Pig Farm and the Pyongyang Vegetable Science Institute, while intensifying the research into low-cost fuel for dwellers. |
