UNSC's Anti-DPRK "Resolution" under Fire

Pyongyang, February 1 (KCNA) -- Vishwanath, director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea who doubles as secretary general of the International Kim Il Sung Prize Council and the International Kim Jong Il Prize Council, released a statement on January 25 in support of the statements of the National Defence Commission and the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK. He said that the DPRK's successful launch of satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2 into its orbit in December last year received unstinted congratulations from progressive mankind as it was a legitimate exercise of sovereignty in line with international law on the use of space for peaceful purposes. The U.S. fabricated "a resolution on additional sanctions" against the DPRK at the UNSC after terming the DPRK's satellite launch for peaceful purposes "grave challenge" against peace and security of the world, he noted, and went on: It is the height of double standards to assert that the U.S. and its allies may launch satellites but only the DPRK which the U.S. regards with hostility is not allowed to do so and it should be subject to "sanctions" in case it defies this ban. This is a wanton infringement upon the sovereignty of an independent state. The National Defence Commission and the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK in their statements resolutely denounced and rejected the illegal "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK adopted by the UNSC. I strongly reject the "resolution" against the DPRK on behalf of the adherents to the Juche idea all over the world. And I fully support the statements of the National Defence Commission and the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK. |
