A meeting took place on Friday before the start of the tour at the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo Memorial Tower in Hyesan City, Ryanggang Province.

The participants laid a floral basket and bunches of flowers before the statue of President Kim Il Sung before the Tower and paid tribute to him.

A report was made by Jang Hyon Chol, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said the young people would fully demonstrate the stamina of the Songun youth vanguard through the study tour.

They called upon young people to make great achievements in the construction of the Paektusan Songun Youth Power Station, project for reconstructing and repairing railways in the northern part of the country, project for reclaiming Sepho tableland, etc. by learning from the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude displayed by the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters.

At the end of the meeting, the members of the study tour group marched toward Pochonbo, led by flags bearing portraits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and flying flags of the DPRK, the youth league and the study tour group.
