Personages of political parties and social bodies including Antti Sika Aho, chairman of the Finnish Mangyongdae Committee and the Finland-Korea Society, were elected co-chairpersons of the preparatory committee.

It decided to give wide publicity to the undying feats of Kim Jong Il and his personality as a great man and noble traits, and organize colorful celebrations on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
