DPRK Not Be Bound to Any "Resolution" of UNSC: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, February 2 (KCNA) -- The UNSC adopted a "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK, terming its satellite launch "a launch of ballistic missile," an application of the most despicable and deceptive double standards.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes this in a bylined article.

The article goes on:

The "resolution" was cooked up with the U.S. playing a main role and member nations of the UNSC supporting its proposal. It calls for hostile measures for tightening "sanctions" against the DPRK in a bid to ban its satellite launch for peaceful purposes and block its economic development and the bolstering up of its military capability.

Looking back on history, the UNSC has never discussed the launch of scientific and technological satellite by a country as an agenda item "threatening world peace and security" and adopted "a resolution on sanctions" in nearly 70 years of its existence. Those countries which claim to be big powers tested intercontinental ballistic missiles in the eyes of the world during the Cold War and the post Cold War, in particular, but the UNSC had never put the issue on the table and discussed it. However, it is taking issue with the DPRK only. Moreover, it fabricated an entirely unreasonable "resolution" over the DPRK's launch of satellite for peaceful purposes.

Had the member states of the UNSC handled our issue of satellite launch with objectivity and fairness, they would not have done such a shameful thing as allowing their dignity to be trampled down and the mission of the UNSC ignored and let loose such self-contradictory remarks that it was "a measure taken against the violation of the resolution adopted in the past".

There are among the member states of the UNSC countries which used to stand up against the U.S.'s application of hegemonic double standards in the past.

Their recent behavior indicated that those countries say No when they consider those double standards as harmful to their own interests, but, if not, they do not care much about them and, moreover, they even blindly follow the U.S. in pursuit of their own interests.

The U.S. imperialists and their followers are sadly mistaken if they miscalculate the DPRK would accept the entirely unreasonable "resolution".

The DPRK will never be bound to any "resolution".

The U.S. and its followers will clearly witness the adverse consequences to be entailed by the application of the double standards.
