Kim in the message said that the 20th ordinary session of the assembly of heads of state and government of the African Union was successfully held thanks to the sincere efforts of the Ethiopian government and people and congratulated the prime minister upon his election as the president of AU with the support and approval of the participants in the session.

Kim said that the session marked a significant occasion that demonstrated once again the efforts of the African countries to accelerate the process of continental integration as required by the developing era and reality and meet regional and world-wide challenges.

He reiterated the DPRK's stand to steadily consolidate and develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with the African countries and wished AU greater progress in its work for the unity and development, peace and prosperity of the African continent.
