In order to strengthen the movement for independent reunification, it is necessary to take it as main tasks to thoroughly implement the south-north joint declarations, have a peace treaty concluded and stop joint military exercises, speakers said.

They stressed the need to have the "Security Law" abolished and the U.S. forces withdrawn from south Korea and conduct brisk activities for the study of the reunification issue.

They called for forming an organization for solidarity with the peace movement this year marking the 60th anniversary of the conclusion of the Armistice Agreement for the present and launch diverse movements for independent and peaceful reunification.
