Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) -- Today marks the lapse of 50 years since President Kim Il Sung visited a forefront army post on Mt. Taedok and put up the revolutionary slogan "A-match-for-a-hundred". Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says in an editorial: The President's advancement of militant slogan "A-match-for-a-hundred" marked a historic event as it brought about a radical turn in strengthening the Korean People's Army (KPA) into invincible revolutionary armed forces and building powerful strength for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche. The five decades of the history of Korean revolution since the slogan "A-match-for-a-hundred" was put up are glorious years in which the validity and vitality of the slogan have been fully demonstrated. Under the wise leadership of the illustrious commanders of Mt. Paektu, the KPA has grown to be an army strong in ideology and faith as it fights for the party and revolution, the country and its people at the risk of life and an invincible revolutionary army equipped with latest offensive and defensive means. The KPA reliably defended the security of the country and the people's happiness from every military provocation of the U.S. imperialists and their allies to invade the DPRK including Pueblo incident in the 1960s and Panmunjom incident in the 1970s and firmly safeguarded socialism by conducting the Arduous March in the 1990s. All this was possible because the army and the people were equipped with the spirit of "A-match-for-a-hundred". This spirit which recorded the history of socialist construction with victories and glory lives on, displaying ever greater vitality today when the Juche revolution has entered into another century of Juche. No matter how the situation and the world political structure may change, the service persons, party members and other people remain unchanged in their will to fully defend the security of the country and the people's happiness by their own efforts. It is necessary to settle accounts with the reckless enemies with arms, not with words. |
