National Seminar to Grasp Kim Jong Il's Revolutionary Career, Exploits Held
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- A national seminar to grasp the brilliant revolutionary career and immortal exploits of leader Kim Jong Il was held to mark his birth anniversary at the People's Palace of Culture here on Thursday.

At the seminar five dissertations were presented. They explained and proved the exploits of Kim Jong Il, who provided the eternal foundation for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche by successfully carrying forward the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung and turning the DPRK into a political and ideological, military and space power under the banner of Songun.

Song Ja Rip, president of Kim Il Sung University who doubles as minister of Higher Education, stressed in his speech that Kim Jong Il was the supreme incarnation of loyalty and obligation as he added luster to the 100-year history of Juche Korea with the august name of the President.

The speaker said that Kim Jong Il held the President in high esteem eternally and glorified socialist Korea as a dignified and invincible power looked up by the world.

Ri Hye Jong, president of the Academy of Social Sciences, explained that Kim Jong Il developed the President's idea of attaching importance to arms and military affairs into the Songun revolutionary idea and Songun political theory, and formulated and systematized it as the theory for building a thriving socialist nation.

Ri Chong Hak, vice-rector of Kim Il Sung Political University, noted that Kim Jong Il was a peerlessly great man who gave a steady continuity to carrying forward and completing the revolutionary cause of Songun.

O Hye Son, director general and editor-in-chief of the Kumsong Youth Publishing House, said that Kim Jong Il was a peerless patriot who defended the dignity and interests of the country and the nation and provided an eternal foundation for prosperity under the uplifted banner of Songun.

Cha Yong Myong, principal of Kim Il Sung Higher Party School, underscored the need to hasten the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche, remaining faithful to the ideology and leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials of social organizations, ministries and national institutions, officials of party and power organs and those in the fields of science, education, literature and arts, media, party cadre training and the preservation of revolutionary sites.
