MD. Harun-Ar-Rashid, chairman of the Bangladesh-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Committee, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

It was discussed and decided at the committee that the progressive political parties and organizations, friendship and solidarity organizations with the Korean people and organizations for the study of the Juche idea in Bangladesh would organize diverse political and cultural events including meeting and seminar praising the revolutionary career and immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
