Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, sent letters to the UN Security Council, the U.S. government and the south Korean puppet government on Feb. 1 respectively in protest against the UN Security Council's "resolution" against the DPRK over its satellite launch for peaceful purposes. The letter said: We demand the UNSC withdraw the "resolution" against the DPRK over its satellite launch. It was legitimate and necessary for the DPRK to launch a satellite for earth observation for peaceful purposes just as other countries did to conquer space. The Korean people made great technological progress by putting its own satellite into orbit. However, the DPRK is exposed to threat due to the UNSC's "resolution on sanctions" to hamstring its efforts to build an economic power. The UNSC is severely violating the sovereignty of the DPRK. In this regard we serve a warning to the UNSC. It should know the Korean people value sovereignty more than their own lives. The UNSC's "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK is a manifestation of the most barbarous hostile policy towards it as the "resolution" was adopted under the pressure of the U.S. The Korean nation is now facing the danger of a new war due to the U.S. War will bring a great disaster to humankind desirous of a peaceful life. |
