They laid down their lives without hesitation to rescue workers under unexpected urgent circumstances.

An awarding ceremony took place in Sariwon City on Friday.

Present there were Ri Pyong Sam, director of the Political Bureau of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, Pak Thae Dok, chief secretary of the North Hwanghae Provincial Party Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, people's security persons and bereaved families.

The title of the DPRK Labor Hero and Gold Medal (hammer and sickle) and Order of National Flag First Class awarded to Ri Kwang Chol and Ri Chung Gon were conveyed to their bereaved families at the awarding ceremony.

Patriotic martyr's certificates were also awarded to the bereaved families.
