Kim Jong Il was an outstanding statesman and the greatest man who devoted himself not only to the Korean revolution but to the accomplishment of the human cause of independence for a long period, the statement said, and went on:

He enforced the unique Songun politics when the imperialist allied forces were talking about the "end of socialism" in the 1990s, firmly defending the sovereignty of the DPRK and instilling faith in the victory of socialism into progressive people.

The DPRK successfully launched satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2 manufactured entirely by its own efforts and with indigenous technology in December last year under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un. This marked a significant occasion which once again demonstrated the overall national power of the DPRK.

The imperialist allied forces are running amuck to stifle the DPRK with its satellite launch for peaceful purposes as an occasion. But the Korean people will achieve greater successes in the struggle for defending socialism, building an economic giant and reunifying the country, single-mindedly united around Kim Jong Un.
