Simeon Ignatov, vice-president of the Central Council of the Bulgarian Anti-Fascist Union who doubles as chairman of the Bulgaria-Korea Friendship Association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.

It decided to give wide publicity to the revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Jong Il, the Songun leadership exploits of the dear respected Kim Jong Un and the efforts of the Korean people for building a thriving socialist nation, and organize diverse events on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star.
