Preparatory committees have been formed in more than 50 countries and regions, including Russia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Iran, Pakistan, Guinea, Democratic Congo, South Africa, Uganda, France, Italy, Poland, Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Ecuador, since the formation of the British preparatory committee for marking the Day of the Shining Star on Jan. 12.

Preparatory committees of the Korean Friendship Association and the International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions were also inaugurated.

At the inaugural ceremonies officials of political parties, governments and organizations of relevant countries highly praised the undying feats Kim Jong Il performed for the Korean revolution and the human cause of independence and vowed to work hard to grandly celebrate the Day of the Shining Star as the holiday common to humankind.

Diverse political and cultural events and publicity activities have taken place in different parts of the world to praise and introduce the revolutionary career and undying feats of Kim Jong Il thanks to positive activities of the preparatory committees and ever-deepening reverence of all people for him.
