Participation in New Year Performance Is One of Schoolchildren's Wishes in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- It is one of wishes of the schoolchildren in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to take part in New Year performance. To realize this desire, they have to win high appreciation at annual individual art contest of schoolchildren and national schoolchildren's art festival. Among those children who fulfilled their desire at the current New Year performance are Jang Jin Ju, an 8-year-old pupil of Rajin Primary School in Rason City, Kim Kuk Hyon, a 13-year-old student of Cholligil Secondary School in Kaechon City of South Phyongan Province, and school boys and girls of Chongsu Secondary School in Sakju County of North Phyongan Province and Kiyang Primary School in Kangso District, Nampho City. In the performance they fully displayed their excellent artistic talent and skills. Students of Chongsu Secondary School successfully performed a sports dance "We Are the Happiest in the World" to be loudly applauded by the audience. The school has placed first in national art festival of schoolchildren every year, being awarded tens of citations, according to Jo Son Hui, a teacher of the school. "We Will Become Tankers", performed by boys at the ages of 7-11 from Kiyang Primary School, also won popularity in the performance. Jon Il Gwang, a teacher of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory, told KCNA that Kiyang Primary School is well known throughout the country for its excellent boys' dance group. Son Wi Gwang, who acted as the hero of the dance, attracted deep interest of dance experts for his gifted talent, Jon added. Participation in lunar New Year performance means only the start of schoolchildren's dream. Their earnest desire is to become talents greatly helpful to building a civilized socialist nation. |
