"The nuclear test is a self-defensive measure which is not contrary to any international law," Cha Jong Chol, an officer of the Korean People's Army, told KCNA.

He said:

"It was a just action to defend peace and stability in and around the Korean Peninsula.

The DPRK now boasts of its self-defensive nuclear deterrent, invincible army and single-minded unity, which were provided thanks to the tireless efforts of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

The anti-DPRK hostile forces are crying for vessel inspections and maritime blockade as part of sanctions over its satellite launch and nuclear test. Their moves remind one of a new-born puppy knowing no fear of a tiger.

The days had gone never to return when the U.S. threatened the DPRK with A-bombs."

Han Chol Min, a war veteran living in Pothonggang District, Pyongyang City, said:

"I am old, but the same spirit is still alive as I had in fighting the Yankees in Osan area during the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953).

It is quite natural to counter the U.S. undisguised nuclear threat with powerful deterrent.

The more reckless the U.S.-led imperialists go to isolate and stifle the DPRK, the stronger the DPRK people's will to defend its socialist idea and social system will grow.

Now I am ready to take part in an all-out action for national reunification with arms in my hand, once Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un gives an order. This is what is in mind of all the war veterans."
