Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- Political parties in Syria and Peru issued statements on February 3 and 5 in condemnation of the UN Security Council's "resolution" against the DPRK. The Communist Party of Syria (Unity) in a statement expressed concerns over the fact that the U.S. has put pressure on the DPRK for decades, imposing political, economic and military blockades upon it. The statement extended solidarity to the resolute struggle of the Korean people against the moves of the U.S. It actively supported the DPRK's rights to scientific and technological development and space exploration and its stance for defending its sovereignty by meeting all sorts of challenges from the imperialists and foiling all their aggression moves. The Socialist Party of Peru in a statement stressed the DPRK's satellite launch was an exercise of its legitimate right as a member nation of the UN and a member of the international community. The UNSC adopted the anti-DPRK "resolution" under the pressure of the U.S. and its followers who groundlessly termed the DPRK's satellite launch for peaceful purposes a "long-range missile launch", the statement noted, adding: This shows that the UNSC is being abused by the imperialists who resort to high-handed and arbitrary practices, away from its basic mission of respecting the sovereignty of the UN member nations and ensuring world peace and security. The Socialist Party of Peru denounces the UNSC's "resolution on sanctions" as it violates the independent and legitimate right of the DPRK. |
