Revolutionary Life of Kim Jong Il Remembered by Members, Officials of DWUK

Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- A meeting of members and officials of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea (DWUK) took place at the Women's Hall on Thursday to remember leader Kim Jong Il on the occasion of his birth anniversary. It was themed "General and women." The meeting began with narration and chorus "February Is Spring". The performers remembered with deep emotion the revolutionary life of Kim Jong Il, who was born as lodestar over Mt. Paektu and dedicated himself to the country and its people till the last moments of his life. Kim Yong Ok, manageress of the Kwangbok Area Supermarket, looked back upon the noble personality of Kim Jong Il who visited the supermarket on Dec. 15, 2011, providing important guidelines to be held fast to in the commercial service. Members of the DWUK art group in Pothonggang District told the story that Kim Jong Il personally watched their performance and showed such great care as inviting them to take part in the annual contest among art groups of military families of the Korean People's Army. Ri Chun Hui said in an excited tone that thanks to the loving care shown by Kim Jong Il, her daughter could have the honor and happiness of being a queen of marathon. Put on the stage were songs "Yearning Is Boundless", "It Is Thanks to Songun Politics Pursued by the General" and "Maxim of Our General." Kim Thuk Sil, worker of Chilgol Restaurant, recounted the story that she has taken the lead in helping the army while Jo Sin Ok, room chief of the Pyongyang Floriculture Institute, vowed to bring about innovations in researches into flowers. Present there were Ri Yong Su, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Jin Ha, secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, DWUK officials, members in the city, those who had the honor of being received by Kim Jong Il and those related to his revolutionary activities. |
