Hwang Chon Ryong, an employee at the Manpho Municipal People's Hospital, told KCNA:

"The nuclear test is a substantial countermeasure taken in defence of the nation's sovereignty and security.

The U.S. and its followers should correctly understand the fixed will of the DPRK that never makes empty words.

The DPRK is not affected by any kind of sanctions and pressure."

Un Sol Hwa, a student of Kanggye University of Education No. 2, said:

"The test, an event of great significance in the history of the Korean nation, demonstrated the DPRK's mettle and courage.

It is foolish of the U.S. and the UN Security Council to try to bring to its knees the DPRK that has taken to the road of independence, the road of Songun (military-first) politics.

This event inspires us with courage to repulse any aggression forces."

Sim Hyon, a worker at the Kanggye Condiment Factory, said:

"It is high time we finally settled accounts with the U.S.

Our country with tremendous military strength will surely emerge victorious in the showdown with the U.S. imperialists and their followers."
