Anti-epidemic Activities Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, February 14 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has paid deep attention to preventing respiratory epidemic. In this regard, KCNA met Pak Myong Su, director of the State Sanitary Inspection Board under the Ministry of Public Health. He said: "The Board has directed big efforts to making medical checkup and providing hygienic information on a regular basis to prevent influenza especially among infants and schoolchildren in winter season. The hygienic and anti-epidemic work is instrumental to implementing the prophylactic policy of the Workers' Party of Korea. The Board intensified information and publicity activities by means of art squads and display of visual aids focused on symptoms and therapy of influenza and on how to prevent it. It also established a nationwide medical checkup system for prevention of respiratory epidemic." Meanwhile, the DPRK finished Pentavalent vaccination among the children throughout the country. |
