S. Korean Court's Human Rights Abuses Censured
Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- The U.S. Regional Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) made public a statement on Feb. 9 to denounce the Lee Myung Bak regime of traitors in south Korea for its human rights abuses against reunification champions of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon.

The statement accused a south Korean court of sentencing to prison terms Vice-Chairman of the South Headquarters of Pomminryon Ro Su Hui and its Secretary General Won Jin Uk. Ro visited Pyongyang to mourn the greatest loss to the nation.

Such anti-reunification act of the Lee regime as cracking down on pro-reunification activists by invoking the "Security Law" condemned by the international community can never cease, the statement deplored.

Criminals charged for irregularities and corruption were granted "special amnesty" at the end of the term of the Lee regime but many prisoners of conscience still remain behind bars, the statement said, noting that this is the true picture of south Korean society which advocates "human rights" and "liberal democracy."

The statement demanded the present regime stop human rights abuses and immediately set free all prisoners of conscience including Ro and Won who faced unreasonable penalties.
