Kim Jong Il's Birth Anniversary Celebrated by Foreign Crewmen

Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- A meeting of foreign crewmen took place at Chongjin Port in North Hamgyong Province on Friday to mark the 71st birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. Present there were the captain and his crewmen of a Hong Kong, China-flagged ship The participants laid a floral basket before a mosaic depicting the smiling peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu in Chongjin City and paid tribute to them. Speakers at the meeting said that the birth of Kim Jong Il was not only a great auspicious event which guaranteed a bright future for the Korean people but a world-historic event which opened a rosy prospect for the human cause of independence. They referred to the fact that Kim Jong Il bolstered up the country's defence capability in every way and provided an eternal foundation for the country's prosperity and the people's happiness, adding that his revolutionary life was a sacred one adorned with the victorious advance for the revolutionary cause of Juche and noble love and dedication to the people. They expressed conviction that the Korean people would dynamically advance along the road of independence, Songun and socialism, closely united around the dear respected Kim Jong Un. A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting. Prior to the meeting, they looked round photos on display and watched a Korean film. |
