Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Kim Jong Un received a letter from the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) Saturday, the birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il. The letter said: Kim Jong Il successfully accomplished the cause of immortalizing President Kim Il Sung for the first time in history, giving steady continuity to his immortal revolutionary history in the homeland. Kim Jong Il made long journeys of Songun unprecedented in the world history, frustrating the imperialist forces' moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK, turning the homeland into a political and ideological power which achieved single-minded unity, a tremendous military power, a full-fledged nuclear weapons state, satellite manufacturer and launcher and providing an eternal cornerstone for building a thriving nation. He was an outstanding leader who wisely steered Chongryon and the movement of Koreans in Japan with far-sighted wisdom and a tender-hearted father of the compatriots in Japan. The patriotic movement of Chongryon is now steadily advancing along the road of new development under your wise leadership, the letter noted, and continued: Chongryon will hold Generalissimo Kim Jong Il in high esteem for all ages as the eternal sun as taught by you in your New Year message and steadily develop Chongryon, which was formed and emerged victorious under the care of the great men of Mt. Paektu, into a model organization of the world overseas compatriots movement. It said that Chongryon would perform proud feats in the drive for ushering in a new period of surge in the movement of Koreans in Japan with the dignity and stamina of Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea and the might of single-minded unity and thus live up to the deep love and trust of Kim Jong Un with spectacular successes in its work. |
