U.S., S. Korean Authorities Accused of Sparking Off Crisis

Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- South Korean organizations released commentaries as regards the grave crisis created on the Korean Peninsula due to the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces' "sanctions" racket against the DPRK. The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in a commentary on Feb. 13 recalled that the U.S. and its allies cried out for the examination of "additional sanctions" against the DPRK over its third underground nuclear test. The nuclear issue on the peninsula was spawned by the U.S. hostile policy including its threat of nuclear attack on the DPRK, the commentary held. The U.S. has posed a threat of nuclear attack to the north since the Korean war and frequently violated the points agreed upon at the six-party talks, it noted. The U.S., in the long run, prodded the UN Security Council into cooking up the "resolution on sanctions" against the DPRK over its satellite launch, a sovereign state's right stipulated by international law, compelling the north to conduct the third nuclear test. If the U.S. wants the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, it should immediately roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK, to begin with, the commentary noted. The Solidarity for Progress in a commentary on Feb. 12 said that the "sanctions" racket kicked off by the U.S. and south Korea is inviting tougher counteraction of the north as it regards the racket as a declaration of war. They should not increase the danger of war through such racket, the commentary held. |
