Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the C.C., the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, said in a report that thanks to the historic day when Generalissimo Kim Jong Il was born as a shining star over Mt. Paektu, the Korean people and school youth and children have advanced the revolutionary cause of Juche along the road of victory and glory, being blessed with the illustrious leaders generation after generation.

He called on all KCU members to reliably carry forward the revolutionary cause of Juche, the revolutionary cause of Songun by earnestly learning from the childhood of Kim Jong Il, studying hard, proving themselves to be good in organizational life and briskly conducting socio-political activities and the movement for doing good things.

There took place an admission ceremony of the KCU.

Led by Mun Kyong Dok, alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, and chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, the newcomers took oath.

Officials, war veterans and meritorious persons tied red neckerchiefs around the necks of those newcomers and pinned KCU's badges on their chests.

The newcomers made the first greetings of the KCU members, responding to the slogan "Always Be Ready for Socialist Country!"

War veteran Pak Chan Su, DPRK hero, Pang Sung Son, principal of Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1, and labor hero and people's sportswoman An Kum Ae, player of the April 25 Sports Team, made congratulatory speeches.

They urged all of them to become genuine members of the KCU glorifying Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea by studying hard, bearing in mind the teaching of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un that the future appearance of prospering Korea is reflected by their records, first of all.
